Oscar Cochran was born on December 9, 1930 in Laurel County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Charles Cochran and Emma Moren Cochran. He was united in marriage to Reba Hibbitts Cochran of East Bernstadt, Kentucky. He is also survived by five children, Jennifer Rudder (late, James W.), Angela Napier (Johnny) all of East Bernstadt; Gelia Whalen (Jimmy Prewitt), Michele Prichard (Joel), Bill Buckles (Rebecca) all of London, Kentucky; a sister, Janice Whitaker (Ford) of London; twelve grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was also preceded in death by seven siblings, Shirley Proffitt, Ruth Jean Cochran, Albert Cochran, Homer Cochran, Earl Cochran, Della Setters and Edith George.
Oscar worked in plumbing and electric and retired as a clerk for Hibbitts Brothers. He was a member of Slate Lick Baptist Church and also attended Philpot Chapel. He was a veteran of the United States Army.
Oscar Cochran departed this life on Thursday, July 25, 2024 being 93 years, 7 months and 16 days of age. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The funeral service for Oscar Cochran was conducted Sunday, July 28th in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel.
