London - Leafie Marie Brooks, age 96, of London, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

Leafie was the daughter of the late Stanley Thomas Jones & Thelma Patience Tuttle-Jones, born in Laurel County, Kentucky.

Leafie had an outgoing nature and enjoyed traveling. She loved watching sports, WLJC's Hour of Harvest (Margaret), Hee-Haw reruns, and movies -one of her favorites being "O Brother Where Art Thou." She loved listening to gospel bluegrass and swinging on her front porch.

Leafie was a member of Blackwater Baptist Church.

She is survived by two daughters, Linda Sue (Bill) Marlow of Norton, OH, and Melissa Earline (Ricky) Jones of Richmond, KY; one son, Keith Allen (Cory) Gilbert of Ft. Worth, TX. Additionally, she has 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 8 great, great grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends that mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Earl Brooks; one son, Dennis Murrell Gilbert; two sisters, Gloria Etta "Goey" Jones, Norma Lee Toman; and one brother, Dwane Stanley Jones.

A funeral service honoring Leafie Marie Brooks was held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home. Interment followed at Higginbotham Cemetery in McCreary County, Kentucky. The family entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
