John Johnson, born on January 20, 1949, in Pittsburg, Kentucky, passed away on February 2, 2025, at the age of 76. He was the beloved son of the late James Bud Johnson and Rosa Belle Sturgill Johnson. John is survived by his four children: Mazie Lawson (Dean) of Versailles, Kentucky, Lenae Spencer (Michael), Amanda Hall (Joey) all of London, and Calvin Johnson (Melinda) of Lexington, Kentucky. He also leaves behind six siblings: Betty Konen (Bill) of Missouri, Thelma Shank and Sylvia Evans both of Versailles, Miranda Kirby of Ohio, Ruby Humfleet of London, Kentucky, and Ollie Renner of Ohio. John was a proud grandfather to ten grandchildren Autum Marshall (Joseph), Christopher Lawson (Mandy), Justin Johnson, Devin Johnson, Emily Goins, Haley Spencer (Brandon), Dominick Spencer (Logan), Stephen Johnson (Nikki), Daniel Hall (Brandi) and Jacob Hall and eleven great-grandchildren, Roselyn, Brantley, Ali, Laynee, Annie, Wyatt, Alayah, Canaan, Waylon, Collin and Nova plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

John was preceded in death by his parents, his lifelong companion Alice Cornett, and fifteen siblings, Leona, Hazel, Garland, Earl, Stella, Joyce, Gerldean, Mae, Wilma, Jean, Sam, Brown, Shirley, Junior and Earl.

John worked at Kerns Bakery in London. He loved the Lord and was of the Pentecostal Faith. He was a self taught musician and could play any instrument he put his mind to. He particularly liked playing gospel music at church. John was very close to his siblings and was a great brother, he loved all of his family dearly. He was a big cut up and loved to joke. His presence, kind heart and vibrant personality will be missed by all of his friends and family.
