London - James Evan "Boots" Minton, age 82, of London, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025.

He leaves behind two children, Angie Taylor, Jeff Minton, both of London, KY; three siblings, Billie Wayne Minton & wife Carol of London, KY, Denny Minton & wife Judy of Valparaiso, IN, Joann Herndon & husband Eddie of Lexington, KY; five grandchildren, Jessica Hillard & husband Danny (Black Jack), Johnathan Minton, Sydney Taylor & Tre Lewis, Erika Guerrero, Braydon Phillippe; four great grandchildren, Braylee Hillard, Felicity Lewis, Archer Guerrero, Janson Lewis; Lisa Stewart, whom he loved like a daughter; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Gilbert Minton; his parents, Clyde Minton & Georgia Brown Minton Jackson; five siblings, Edward "Butch" Jackson, Kenton "Fat Man" Jackson, Pamela Desormier, Robert "Goat" Minton, Vince Jackson; and by his granddaughter, Breanna Taylor.

James was retired, having worked many years for Kelcy Hayes in Michigan.

James enjoyed the simple pleasures of life—watching horse racing and, most of all, spending time with his grandchildren, who brought him great joy and pride. His quiet strength and love for his family will always be remembered.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A funeral service honoring James Evan "Boots" Minton will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Duke Hammons officiating. Interment will at follow Taylor Cemetery in Blackwater, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 31, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service hour, also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
