Harold Dean Jones passed away on December 13th, 2024, in London, Kentucky. He was born in the Zebulon Community of Pike County on July 31st, 1939. Dean spent his entire working life in road construction, having worked for Watts and Call in Lexington, Kentucky and Gohmann Asphalt and Construction in Clarksville, Indiana, before retiring to London. Dean built parts of I-75 and I-71, among others. He is a 1957 graduate of Hazel Green High School and was a member of Soul's Harbor Church.

Dean enjoyed every part of fishing and genealogy, having authored a book many years ago on the history of his Jones family, tracing the lineage back to 1774. He also enjoyed his Grandchildren and following their activities throughout their lives. Logan and Parker were outstanding basketball players at Christian Academy of Louisville and Reagan was a State Runner-Up in Shot Put competition at Christian Academy of Louisville.

Dean was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys McGuire Jones; father, Aubrey Eston Jones; and sister, Leoris Gardner. He is survived by his brother, Norman Jones; sons, Kelly Jones (Tabitha) and Kevin Jones (Michelle); granddaughter Reagan Jones; grandsons Logan Jones (Ciarra) and Parker Jones; and great granddaughter Savannah Jordan.

The family wishes to acknowledge Dean's many friends in London, Kentucky and Louisville, Kentucky, including friends from Garden Row in Louisville, and the many kids from Prestonia Elementary and Durrett High School that passed through his home. He was known as "Big Dean" to many of the kids.

The family wants to thank all staff members at Laurel Heights Senior Living Community in London where Dean received outstanding care. The family also wants to extend a special thank you to Brad Nolan, for taking Dean to Church twice a week and for being a trusted friend.

The funeral service for Dean will be held on December 19th, 2024, at Bowling Funeral Home in London, Kentucky. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the funeral at 1:00 p.m., with burial to follow in the Swiss Colony Cemetery. The service will be officiated by Rev. Robert Helton. Expressions of sympathy can be made to your favorite charity.

Pallbearers will be Kelly Jones, Kevin Jones, Parker Jones, Logan Jones, Norman Jones and Brett Burnett.
