Edward "Ted" Ridings was born March 28, 1935 in Laurel County, Kentucky. He was the son of the late Virgil O. Ridings and Bertha Wilkerson Ridings. He was united in marriage to Billie Anne Shomaker Ridings who survives of London, Kentucky. He is also survived by his son Gary Ridings, of London; one great-granddaughter, Lillianne Ridings; plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his three siblings, Virgil Ridings, Jr., Naomi Elgene Ridings, and Willette Kennedy.

Ted was a Shriner and a member of the McKee Masonic Lodge for over 60 years, where he served as a former Master. He retired from Kern's Bakery after 49 years. He was an avid gardener and a member of the First United Methodist Church, where he also served as an usher for 40 years.

Edward "Ted" Ridings departed this life Friday, August 4, 2023 being 88 years, 4 months and 7 days of age.

The funeral service for Edward "Ted" Ridings was conducted at 2:00 p.m. Monday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Sean Ryan officiating. Burial followed in A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.

The family of Edward "Ted" Ridings received friends at Bowling Funeral Home Monday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the funeral hour of 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to First United Methodist Church, 301 W Fifth Street, London, KY 40741.
