London - Edward Arthur Brophy, 85, of London, Kentucky, passed away Friday, June 13, 2025, at his home.

He was born in Covington, Kentucky, on May 11, 1940, the son of the late Arthur Richard and Juanita Harrison Brophy. A 1958 graduate of Ludlow High School, Edward began working at a local pharmacy at age twelve and was inspired to attend pharmacy school, which he finished in 1963. During a long career, he had worked at several retail pharmacies and hospitals in Northern Kentucky and the London area. Edward enjoyed bowling, tennis, and traveling. He loved history and the work of Michaelangelo. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Sacred Heart Parish Council.

In addition to his parents, Edward was predeceased by a sister, Judith Brophy Hall.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Pennington Brophy; three sons: Michael Edward Brophy (Kara), Sean August Brophy, and Arthur Patrick Brophy; grandchildren: Lily, Benjamin, and Alexander; a sister, Patricia Brophy Sheriff; uncle, Bill Edwards; brother-in-law, Clark Hall; niece, Deanna Moore; nephews: Robbie Hall, Terry Hall, and Shawn Robert Blankenship; and several cousins.

Visitation will be from 6 until 8 pm on Wednesday, June 18, at the Vankirk-Grisell Funeral Home, with a Rosary service to be held at 8 pm. Edward's funeral Mass will be held at 11 am Thursday, June 19, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father Damian Anumba officiating. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery at Fort Mitchell, KY, on Friday, June 20th.
