Donnie Miller Obituary

London - Donnie Miller, age 88, of London, Kentucky passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026, surrounded by his entire family.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years, Dixie Jean Miller; two children, Karen Burns & husband Brett, Kelley Reams & fiancé Tim, all of London, KY; five grandchildren, Brandon Phelps & Bri, Blake Phelps & wife Janna, Joslyn Bernhold, Madison Patterson & husband Colby, Jacob Burns; five great grandchildren, Braylen Phelps, Marley & Rheá Wilson, Emmaline Patterson, Bailey Phelps; his cousin, Charlie Hedrick; his niece, Judy Kiester of Idaho; plus a host of other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Dan & Bessie Hedrick Miller; five siblings, Tandy Miller, Robert Miller, Roy G. Miller, Sissy Sharp, Georgia Miller; and by his niece, Sandy Griffith.

Donnie was a devoted family man, proud patriot, and faithful servant of his community who leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and loyalty.

Donnie dedicated 25 years of service as an environmentalist with the local health department, working diligently to protect the health and well-being of his community. He carried that same spirit of service during his time as a veteran of the United States Air Force, where he honorably served his country — a country he deeply loved throughout his life.

A true patriot, Donnie cherished his freedom, his flag, and the values he believed made America strong. He was a member of West London Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of who he was.

At home, Donnie enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid television watcher who kept up faithfully with the news, never missed a good western, and could just as easily be found enjoying cartoons. He had a love for guns, liked trying his luck with Pick 3 and lottery tickets, and could often be found working a crossword puzzle with quiet determination.

More than anything, Donnie loved his family. He adored picnics, cherished time spent with children and grandchildren, and found his greatest joy in being "Papaw." In fact, he would much rather have been called Papaw than President — a title that meant far more to him than any position of prestige ever could.

He will be remembered for his patriotic heart, his steady presence, his devotion to family, and the pride he carried in both his country and his loved ones. Donnie's life was a testament to service, faith, and the simple joys that make life meaningful.

He leaves behind a family who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
