London - Della Margaret Gibbs was called home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2025.

Della was one of seven children born to John Henry and Ollie (Locke) Sullivan of London KY and the last to be called home at the age of 88. She leaves behind her devoted husband Norman Gibbs with whom she celebrated 70 years of marriage. During those 70 years, they were blessed with two surviving children, John Gibbs of London KY and Nancy McHargue of Corbin KY and a special son-in-law, Jerry McHargue. Della and Norman lost their son Perry Gibbs at birth and she has looked forward to meeting him in Heaven for many years. Della also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Misty Root and husband Gary, Wesley McGalliard and wife Sarah, Amy Daniel and husband John, and Matthew Gibbs. 10 great grandchildren Kimberly Root, Kara Root, Colton Root, Clair Root, Carolyn McGalliard and her baby brother, Connor Daniel, Eli Daniel, Ruth Daniel, Jude Daniel and one great-great grandson, Samson Powell.

Della was a faithful servant of Christ and a member of Hopewell Baptist Church, but her kind and generous spirit was felt all over the world though her and Norman's support of missions to spread the word of God.

She loved to garden and it brought her great joy to grow and maintain stunning flower gardens. But her greatest joy was her family. Della devoted her life to caring for her family and faithfully serving Christ. She was a faithful and loving wife. Della and Norman married young and walked through all of life's joys and hardships hand in hand. As their family grew, Della always looked forward to each new addition and always welcomed and loved the new babies as her own. She provided loving care for every generation from her parents down to her great grandchildren. She always greeted everyone with a smile and kind words and made sure to tell you about her Jesus. She brought beauty and love to everything and everyone she touched. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

A funeral service honoring Della Margaret Gibbs was held on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at Hopewell Baptist Church, 1045 State Hwy 1223, Corbin, KY with Dennis McCoy and Shane Martin officiating. Interment followed at Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily, Kentucky. The family entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
