London - Christine Proffitt, age 90, departed this life on Sunday, January 18, 2026. She was born on September 15, 1935, in London, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Walter and Nannie Truitt Hammons.

Christine was united in marriage to Robert Cecil Proffitt, who preceded her in death. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, and faithful daughter, and she was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two sons, Steve Proffitt and wife Rebecca of Nicholasville, Kentucky, and Alan Proffitt and wife Karen of Raleigh, North Carolina; one daughter in law; Heather Proffitt, one sister, Clara Cheek; eleven grandchildren, Robbie Proffitt, Sarah Proffitt, Katherine (Matt) Slone, Megan (Dom) Proffitt, Gabrielle Proffitt, Hunter Proffitt, Peyton Proffitt, Brett Thomas, Jackson Slone, Lonie Slone, and Evie Workman; two great-grandchildren, Brentley Slone and Caleb Slone; and one great-grandchild on the way, Sophie Slone. She also leaves behind a host of relatives and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by one son, Brian Proffitt, and four siblings, Bill Hammons, Leona Lacy, Delbert Hammons, and Cecil Hammons.

Christine Proffitt lived a life rooted in faith, family, and love. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services for Christine Proffitt will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel, with Steve Bruce officiating. Burial will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Friday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery in Nicholasville.

The family of Christine Proffitt will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday until the funeral hour at 7:00 p.m.
