London, Kentucky - Charles (Eddie) Black, age 85, of London, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026.

He leaves behind two siblings, James Larry Black & wife Brenda, Lou Gregory, all of London, KY; plus a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends to cherish his memory.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Leander Black & Cordia Doughty Black; and by three siblings, Rothwell Black, Owen Black, Kenneth Black.

Charles (Eddie) Black was loved and respected by an amazing number of friends, colleagues, and family. His life was full and busy. He loved farming and the many wonderful people he met through this endeavor.

He taught and counseled at several schools, making many friends along the way. He loved talking about their wonderful—and sometimes mischievous—experiences.

His church family was very close to his heart. He was active in the Macedonia Methodist Men's Group and certainly appreciated their good breakfast meetings. He loved all his family, but was especially fond of his nieces and nephews! He allowed them to help him farm—feeding cattle, driving tractors and a few times riding the calves. He even allowed them to share his chocolate candy and that was quite a privilege.

Charles Black will certainly be missed here on earth, but has now been reunited with many precious family members, loved ones, best of all, his Savior. We do not begrudge his passing as much as we are grateful for his love, friendship and time with us!

A funeral service honoring Charles (Eddie) Black will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Donald Tacket officiating. Interment will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in London, Kentucky. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 beginning at 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., also at the funeral home. The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
