Bobbie Rush Obituary

Bobbie Jean Ensslin Rush was born on April 9, 1939, in Laurel County, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Paul Ensslin and Hazel (Thomas) Ensslin. She was united in marriage on April 26, 1958 to her loving husband, Ralph Rush who preceded her in death. She is survived by two children, James Brent Rush and wife Catherine of Paris, KY and Tamara Rush Cress and husband James of Venice, FL; six grandchildren, Francis Rush, Emily Joseph, Jillian Rush, Hunter Cress, and Sally Cress; a sister, Jo Ann (Ensslin) McDonald and husband Dr. Isaac B. McDonald of London, KY; plus a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

Bobbie was also preceded in death by one grandchild, James M. Rush.

Ralph and Bobbie were married sixty years and danced together any time they could. They shared a love for University of Kentucky basketball and the Cincinnati Reds. She was a long time educator in North College Hill, Ohio and Boone County, Kentucky. Bobbie was proud to be a member of the Golden Order of the Eastern Star.

Everyone who tasted Bobbie's cooking knew she had a talent for baking and making meals for her friends and family. She was known to be kind, generous and enjoyed socializing. She never met a stranger. Bobbie loved traveling to Venice, Florida every winter where she enjoyed playing dominos and cards with her friends.

Bobbie cherished her family at Burlington Baptist Church in Burlington. She read her Bible each day and always enjoyed singing hymns.

Bobbie went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 15, 2024.

The family of Bobbie Rush will receive friends beginning at 10 am Saturday, June 29th at Burlington Baptist Church with Jeff Perry officiating her funeral service at 12 pm. A graveside service will be held at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park in London, Kentucky on Sunday, June 30th at 1pm with Dr. Issac B. McDonald officiating.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Cress, James Cress, Trevor Joseph, Paul McDonald, Bryant McDonald and Phil McDonald.

Bobbie will be dearly missed and forever loved by all her family and friends.
