Bertha Marie Lawson, a beloved resident of London, Kentucky, was born on February 13, 1935, in Laurel County, Kentucky. She was the cherished daughter of the late Arthur Hibbitts and Ada Mae Johnson Hibbitts. Bertha was united in marriage to her loving husband of 66 years, Estill "Dutch" Lawson, who preceded her in death.

She is survived by her four children, Jack Lawson and wife Lola, Randy Lawson and wife Linda, Debbie Clay and husband Stanley, and Mickey Lawson. She also leaves behind three siblings, Faye Whitlow and husband Roger, Dennis Hibbitts and wife Teresa, and Carl Hibbitts, all residing in London. Her legacy continues through her four grandchildren, Bryon, Angela, Gregory, and Travis; four great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Tanner, Trey, and Huxton; and four great-great-grandchildren, Daxton Blake, Bentley Jamison, Kashton Monroe, and Harper Jo, along with a host of other family and friends who mourn her passing.

Bertha was also preceded in death by her grandson, Bradley, and three siblings, Lois Rice, Kenneth Hibbitts, and Robert Hibbitts. She was a dedicated employee, having retired from the American Greeting Card Company, and a devoted member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church in London. Bertha had a passion for tending to her flowers. She was feisty, a little bossy, set in her ways but that never took away from her caring heart and love for her friends and family.

Bertha Marie Lawson went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 11, 2024 being 89 years, 9 months and 28 days of age. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

The family of Bertha Marie Lawson would like to sincerely thank Ohler, Sarah, Linda, Jane and Beulah for the wonderful care they gave Bertha.

The funeral for Bertha Marie Lawson was conducted on Sunday at Bowling Funeral Home with Dwayne Arthur and Gary Lawson officiating. Burial followed in McDaniel Cemetery in London.
