Theodore's Story

Ted Cook, of London, Kentucky passed this life on Sunday, October 1, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center after a short battle with cancer. Cook, age 70, is survived by his wife, Debbie Cook, by his children; Teddy Cook and wife Joann, Connie Cook, Christopher Conley, and Chandler Conley, by his siblings; Connie Cook and husband Glen Johnson, Denny Cook and wife Janice, and Gene Cook and wife Martha, by his grandchildren; Briar Rose Cook, Brycen Cook, Kasey Robinson and Kamie Jo Wilson, and by one great-grandchild, Braylen Robinson. He is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard Eugene Cook and Emily Rosetta (Fiechter) Cook, and by one brother, David Cook.
Cook was the owner of Cook Tire, a business he operated for 47 years, however, Cook's passions were God, family and country. A faithful member of Carmichael Community Church, a veteran of the United States Air Force. Cook served on many local, state, and national service boards, civic and business organizations.
Ted Cook was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting, fishing, and raising quail and competing with his champion bird dogs. Cook was often at his happiest when helping local youth and sponsoring youth sporting events or was watching children, and later his grandchildren, engage in their many sporting activities.
Cook recently endowed the weight room at the new Shriners Hospital for Children in Lexington, Kentucky. In lieu of flowers or other gifts, the Cook family is requesting financial donations and bequests be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, in Lexington, Kentucky.
Friends may visit at London Funeral Home on Thursday, October 5, beginning at 5:00 p.m. and ending at 10:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be on Friday, October 6 at 1:00 p.m. with the Reverend Jeff Lewis officiating. Entombment will follow at A.R. Dyche Memorial Park.
