Wilma Faye Garland Wyatt Wilma Faye Garland Wyatt, 68, Laurel County, Ky., passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington, Ky., surrounded by her family and friends. She was born on June 2, 1947, in London, Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Morgan and Cynthia Pennington Garland. On January 1, 1966, she was united in marriage to Larry Wyatt. To his union of 50 years, was born one son, Derek Dewayne Wyatt. She is survived by her husband and son Derek and wife, Rachel, their children, Connor, Matthew and Treyton Wyatt; a special niece, Tammy Garland and husband, Brad, their children, David and Gracelynn; four brothers, Yancha Garland and wife, Elva, Frank Garland and wife, Vonita, Elmer Garland and wife, Letha and Arnold Garland and wife, Louise; friends, Mike and Lisa Smith and their children, Makayla, Michael and Phillip, plus a host of family and friends to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Herman Garland and Ernest Garland. She was a member of Blackwater United Baptist Church. She retired after 30 plus years of service in banking service, helping and serving with a friendly smile to countless numbers of people in the Laurel, Whitley and Knox County area. Funeral service for Wilma Faye Garland Wyatt was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 14, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Dale Wyatt and Marty Nolan officiating. Burial followed in the Hopkins Cemetery at Lily. Pallbearers were Michael Smith, Phillip Smith, Jacob Turner, Chris Turner, Eddie Causey and David Rice. The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday.
