Verlie Davis, age 97, of Liberty Township, Ohio, (formerly of London, Kentucky), widow of Willie Davis, passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 30, at Hawthorne Glen Nursing Center in Middletown, Ohio.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, George and Laura Cheek; one sister, Pauline Minton; and one grandson, Troy Wayne Davis.
She leaves behind one son, Eddie Davis and wife Peggy of Middletown; one granddaughter, Theresa Lynn Davis; two great-grandchildren, Eric Joseph and Lindsy Ann Davis; two great-great granddaughters, Hailey and Summer Davis, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was a homemaker and member of Rutledge Road Baptist Church in Louisville, Kentucky. She will forever be remembered and greatly missed by all of her family and friends.
Funeral services for Verlie Davis will be conducted on Saturday, Feb. 3, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with John Duty officiating. Burial will follow in the Cheek Cemetery. The family will receive friends beginning at 10 a.m. until the funeral hour of 1 p.m., also on Saturday at the funeral home.
