Thelma E. McQueen Thelma E. McQueen, 95, London, Ky., passed away at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016. She was born on September 28, 1920, in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late John B. and Susie Johnson. She was united in marriage to the Rev. Walter A. McQueen, who preceded her in death. She is survived by six children, J.E. McQueen and wife, Fern, of London, Shirley Egger and husband, Elmer, of Russell Springs, Peggy Goodall and husband, Fred, and Billy Joe McQueen, all of London, Carolyn Bailey and husband, Mike, of Greenfield, Ind., and Linda Nantz of London; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Betty Pruitt; a son, David E. McQueen, and a brother, Edward Johnson. She was a former cook at Rough Creek Comp Care and a member of East Pittsburg Baptist Church. Funeral service for Thelma E. McQueen will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Denny McCowan officiating. Burial will follow in the McQueen Cemetery, Laurel County. The family will receive friends also on Saturday from 11:30 a.m. until the 1 p.m. funeral hour. Pallbearers will be Timmy Goodall, Chestin Nantz, Mike McQueen, Josh Carter, Michael Bailey II, and Charles Blankenship.
