Sudie Pearl Philpot was born on March 17, 1920, at Moore's Creek in Jackson County, the daughter of the late George C. and Minerva Eversole Thomas. She was united in marriage to Bert Philpot, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughter, Joyce Philpot Fields of East Bernstadt, one sister Alice Harness of Ocoee, Florida, seven grandchildren, Karen Fields, Jeff Fields (Kathy), Trena Johnson (Ben), Todd Fields, (Vicky), Shawna Bowling (Scott) all of East Bernstadt, and Steve Fields and Kathy Bowling (Lonnie), all of London, eight great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by three sisters, Lella Winstead, Goldie Smith and Martha Ghent, two brothers, Johnny Thomas and Otis Eversole and her son-in-law, Alfred Fields.
She was a homemaker and was of the Holiness faith.
Sudie Pearl Philpot departed this life at St. Joseph - London on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017, being 96 years, 10 months and 1 day of age.
Funeral services for Sudie Pearl Philpot were conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Charlie Helton officiating. Burial will follow in the Philpot-Fields Cemetery at East Bernstadt.
The family of Sudie Pearl Philpot received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Friday.
Pallbearers were Steven, Jeff and Todd Fields, Jeremy Mills, Logan and Zachary Bowling. Honorary pallbearers were Sam Bowling, Jacob and Jody Johnson and Samuel Kreis.
