Sammie Ray Gregory, 74, of London, Ky., husband of Barbara Ewing Gregory, passed away on Sunday, Sept. 25, 2016, at his residence.
Along with his loving wife of 47 years, he leaves behind three children, Teresa Wagers of London, Rick Gregory and wife Winona of Florence, Ky., and Elizabeth Lester and husband Kevin of Shepherdsville, Ky.; six siblings, Julia Jones of London, Cora Goins of Texas, Ruby Goins of Louisville, Lucy Goins of Louisville, James Gregory of London, and Denford Gregory of Louisville.
He us also survived by nine grandchildren, Marisa Arthur and husband Jonathon, Victoria Wagers and fiancé Aaron Boggs, Catherine Wagers, Justin Gregory and wife Angel, Whitley Gregory, Caitlin Adams, Megan Gregory, Brandon Lester, Samantha Tate and husband Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Raeleigh, Mallory, Kendall, Riley, Noah and Remi.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Anne Gregory; six siblings, Vasco Gregory, Oak Gregory, Steve Gregory, Edie Mae Gregory, Delia Hatfield, and Geneva Carpenter; and a son-in-law, Letcher Wagers.
He was a farmer, of the Baptist faith and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral service for Sammie Ray Gregory will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 29, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Tip Minton officiating.
Burial will follow in the Riley Gregory Cemetery.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 28, also at the funeral home.
