Ruby  Gross


Ruby Gross, 98, of Lily, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at her residence.
She leaves behind many years of memories for one brother, William "Bill" Hammons of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren, and family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Culberson Gross; her parents, Victor Hammons and Aretha Taylor; two children, Creed Lafford Gross and Billie Sue Bustle.
Ruby was a faithful member of Campground Pentecostal Church where she always held others up in prayer. She was an avid UK basketball fan, and loved to watch WLJC Christian television show. Ruby worked for over 12 years at American Greeting Card and in her younger years, she worked at the ship yards in Baltimore, Maryland during WWII. To show her heart, as a teenager, one time Ruby broke and rode a mule so that she could ride and take her father lunch.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 30 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brother Jerry Laudermilk officiating. Burial will follow at the Cumberland Memorial Gardens in Lily.
The family will receive friends beginning at 11 a.m. Tuesday until the funeral hour also at the funeral home.
The family has entrusted House-Rawlings Funeral Home with the arrangements.
