Ray A. Smith, 77 of London, Ky., husband of Donna Curry Smith, passed away on Wednesday, January 10 at Laurel Heights.
Along with his loving wife of 58 years, he leaves behind two sons, Michael Ray Smith and wife Debra, John Gilbert Smith and wife Regina, all of London, Ky.; three siblings, Kereath Smith and wife Judy of London, Ky., Dawson Smith and wife Peggy of Hamilton, Ohio, Marphessia Gregory and husband Johnny of London, Ky.; three grandchildren, Michelle Smith, Tiffany Saunders, Steven Smith; four great-grandchildren, Houston Saunders, Dante Smith, Serenity Smith, Jaxson Saunders; sister-in-law, Christine Smith, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Ida Smith and four siblings, Gilbert Smith Jr., Randall Smith, Frostella Smith and Elsie Smith.
He was a farmer/carpenter and member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He will be greatly missed by all of his family and friends.
Funeral services for Ray A. Smith was conducted on Monday, January 15 at 11 a.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Wilmer Evans and Adam Hooker officiating. Burial followed in the Freedom Church Cemetery. The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Sunday, January 15, also at the funeral home.
