Opal Myrtle (Broyles) Bales, 96, of London, Kentucky passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 at Christian Care Center in Corbin, Kentucky.
She was the mother of Jimmy Bales and wife Robin of London, Kentucky, Clyde Bales and wife Peggy of Springfield, Missouri, and Judy Price and husband Phil of Harrisburg, Missouri; the sister of Odie Potts of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Bill Broyles and Frank Broyles both of Enon, Ohio. She was the mother-in-law of Mae Bales of Corbin, Kentucky, and Alta Bales of London, Kentucky. She was blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Gilmore Bales; by three children, Clarence William Bales, Denny Clark Bales, and Carolyn Jean Bales; by her parents, W.C. Broyles and Ella Mae (Owens) Broyles; by her siblings, Ruby Estes and Johnny Broyles. She was a retired school cafeteria worker and a member of Faith Baptist Church.
Funeral services for Opal Myrtle (Broyles) Bales were conducted on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at 3 p.m. in the London Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Claude Maggard and Brother Roy Hamblin officiating. Burial followed at Locust Grove Cemetery. The family of Opal Myrtle (Broyles) Bales received friends at London Funeral Home from 2 p.m. until the service hour on Sunday, November 26, 2017.
Serving as pallbearers were: Andy Trent, Andy Farmer, Jake Durham, Roger Bales, Brian Bales, Hunter Disney, and Jameson Tuel.
