Oda Smith Proffitt Oda Smith Proffitt, 77, of London, Ky., passed away Monday, Jan. 25, 2016, at the home of her daughter. She is survivied by her children, Lucy Carolyn Smith, Linda Jean York and husband George, Loretta Carnes and husband Ronnie, Harold Lee Proffitt and wife Kellie, all of London, and Gene Proffitt and wife Joyce of Hamilton, Ohio; a sister, Norma Lipps and husband Don of London; a brother, L.C. Smith of Corbin; daughter-in-law,  Lommie Proffitt of London; nine grandchildren, Joseph Wesley Smith, Lindsey Alexandria Gadd, Samantha Stafford Proffitt, Abbey Brianna Proffitt, Andrew Lee Carnes, Julie Hobbs, Elizabeth Ware, David Proffitt, and Marilyn Webb; host of great-grandchildren, and by a special friend and neighbor, Angelica Gallegos of London. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Edd Proffitt; her parents, Lee and Lucy (Swafford) Smith; by four sons, Ronald Smith, Bill Proffitt, Delbert Proffitt, and Jamie Sizemore; and a brother, Roy Smith. Funeral service for Oda Smith Proffitt will be conducted 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29,  in London Funeral Home Chapel with Cecil Benge and Johnny Benge officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Laurel County. The family received friends after 5 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, at the funeral home.
