Norma Jean (George) Pennington, 85, of Lily, Ky., passed away Thursday, Sept. 22, 2016, at Baptist Health Corbin.
She was the mother of Velva Pennington Barker and husband Gary of Lily, Ky., and Leslie David Pennington of Keavy, Ky.
She is also survived by three grandchildren, Rhyana Barker, and Trevor Barker, both of Lily, and Rachel Price of Parkers Lake, Ky.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Pennington; by a daughter, Judith Ann Pennington; by her parents, Bert George and Eva (George) George; and by her siblings, Estill George, Raymond George, Leslie George, Mildred George, Arville George, and Wilma George Wyatt.
Born April 6, 1931 in Laurel County, she was a farmer and a member of Slate Lick Missionary Baptist Church.
Funeral service for Norma Jean (George) Pennington was conducted at 12 noon Saturday, Sept. 24, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Barry Farris officiating.
Burial followed at Cottongim Cemetery.
The family received friends from 10:30 a.m. until the noon funeral hour, also at Saturday at the funeral home.
Family and friends served as pallbearers.
