Margaret Ann Parrett Green

May 08, 1934 - February 28, 2019

Margaret Ann Parrett Green Margaret Ann Parrett Green, of London, Ky., passed away February 28, 2019, with her family by her side.
Margie was born to the late Bill and Cora King Parrett in Letterbox, Ky., on May 8, 1934. She graduated from Annville Institute in 1951.
Margie was married to Elmer Lee Green on April 30, 1955, in Middlesboro, Ky., after which they moved to Dayton, Ohio. Margie is survived by her husband Elmer of London, one son Craig and Brenda Green of Harrodsburg, Ky., one daughter Melinda Bowling of London, Ky., and four grandchildren: Shawn Green and Susan Green both of Louisville, Taylor Bowling and Tory Bowling both of London, Ky.
Margie was preceded in death by her parents Bill and Cora King Parrett, two brothers: Foyster and Carl Parrett, and eight sisters: Ellen, May, Berneice, Verna, Opal, Hazel, Beatrice, and Jean.
Margie and Elmer returned to their roots in 1981 when they moved back to Jackson County, Ky., and began pastoring Seven Pines Pentecostal Church where they pastored for 25 years.
In her later years, illness resulted in Margie and Elmer residing at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly where she served on the Advisory Council. While there, Margie befriended residents and staff alike. She had a piece of candy and a kind word for those who stopped in. She never forgot a name, going months without seeing one of the employees but upon seeing her called her by name, asked about her grandkids and sent candy home with them. As is evidenced by having two of her former caretakers serving as pallbearers today, she was loved and will be missed by all.
Funeral service were held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at Seven Pines Pentecostal Church with Bro. Jeff Lewis and Bro. Matthew Robbins officiating. Burial followed in the Seven Pines Cemetery.
Pallbearers: Shawn Green, Taylor and Tory Bowling, Russell Bennett, Mark and Jeff Becklen.
