Lola Mae Cheek Jones, 87 of London, Ky., widow of Marlin Jones, passed away on Thursday, January 25, at Manchester Memorial Hospital in Manchester, Ky.
She leaves behind four siblings, Woodson Cheek of Quincy, Ind., Glen Cheek and wife Cheryl of Martinsville, Ind., Cleo Cheek Gray of Tiffin, Ohio, and Eveline Cheek Jones and husband Lowell Edsel of London, Ky; one grandson, Brian Sams of Manchester, Ky; one great-granddaughter, Haley Sams, plus a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family and friends to mourn her passing.
Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Maggie York Cheek; two daughters, Carolyn Jones, Evonda Jones Sams and two siblings, Kenneth Cheek and Roberta Mills.
She was a homemaker and member of Freedom Baptist Church. She was loved and cherished by all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Lola Mae Cheek Jones were conducted on Saturday, January 27 at 1 p.m. in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Terry Roberts officiating. Burial followed in the York Cemetery. The family received friends beginning at 12:00 noon until the funeral hour of 1 p.m., also on Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include: Dennis Jones, Bobby Taylor, Doug Parker, Dennis Taylor, Lowell Taylor, Bill Fields.
