Lois's Story

Lois Ann Arthur, 74, of Somerset, Ky., departed this life on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at her residence.
She was born on February 13, 1943 in Squib, Ky., to the late Ford and Alice Baker Burdine. She was a homemaker and attended Chimney Rock Baptist Church. Lois loved her grandchildren and enjoyed gardening, her flowers, and going four-wheeling.
She is survived by her husband, John Arthur, whom she married on August 6, 1960 in Somerset, Ky.; one daughter, Linda Michelle (and Lendell) Bowling of Somerset, Ky.; four grandchildren, Jordan Adams, Katelyn Adams, Ketton Bowling, and Dustin Bowling; three great-grandchildren, Trystin Bowling, Kason Bowling, and Lendell Wayne Bowling; four brothers, Denton (and Emma Ellen) Burdine of Greenfield, Ind., Marvin (and Regena) Burdine of Greenwood, Ind., Darwin (and Marti) Burdine of Fortville, Ind., and Carlos (and Teresa) Burdine of Greenwood, Ind; three sisters, Letha (and Lawrence) Arthur of Somerset, Ky., Eunice (and Louis) Hawk of Indianapolis, Ind., and Shirley (and Wayne) Whitaker of Somerset, Ky.; and several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Fordie Burdine and Clifford Burdine and one sister, Myrel Burdine.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2017 after 6:00 p.m. at Chimney Rock Baptist Church.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Chimney Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Aaron Roberts and Jerry Wayne Bullock officiating. Burial will be at Chimney Rock Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jordan Adams, Odis Burdine, Dustin Bowling, Luke Robinson, Dusty Arthur, and Cody Mize.
