Leslie Wilson Downey Leslie Wilson Downey, 67, Laurel County, Ky., passed away Sunday, March 27, 2016, at Baptist Health - Corbin. He was born on September 28, 1948, in Clay County, Ky., the son of the late Lloyd and Anna Belle Brumley Downey. He was united in marriage to Virginia Henson Downey, who survives of Lily. He is also survived by four children, Sandra Kay Perkins and husband, Jeff, of Newcomb, Tenn., Melissa Gail Goff and husband, James, of Florence, Ky., Shawna Lee Chaney and husband, David, of London, and Leslie Michael Downey of Lily; two sisters, Helen Asher and Simmie Black, both of Huntington, Ind.; eight grandchildren, Thomas, Kyle and Trenton Perkins, Keisha and Julian Goff, Tanner Chaney, Kaylee and Payton Downey; three great-grandchildren, Addison, Trayton and Easton Perkins; special nieces, Jane Scott and Dawn Powell, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing. He was a retired mechanic and a member of Union Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 30. Funeral service for Leslie Wilson Downey will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 31, at Bowling Funeral Home with Roy Hamblin officiating. Burial will follow in the McHargue Cemetery at Lily. Pallbearers will be Thomas, Kyle and Trenton Perkins, Les Downey, Jack Henson, Tanner Chaney, James Goff, and David Chaney.
