Kenneth 'Red''s Story
Kenneth "Red" Harp, 74, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on May 15, 1942, in Pineville, Ky., the son of the late Arthur Burton Harp and Hazel Conatser.
He is survived by two step-children, James Steele and Lisa Hurley; grandchildren, Misty Hunter, Tyler Hurley and Shelbi Nolan, all of London; great-grandchildren, Kailyn Hunter, Aubrey Scott and Owen Scott, family members, Michaelina Uldrikson and Eric Harp plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his son, Sammy Harp and his cousin, Jean Morford.
He was a lineman for Kentucky Utilities for 25 years and a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former Clay County deputy sheriff, a firefighter in Laurel and Clay counties, and served as an EMT and Rescue Squad member.
A memorial service for Kenneth "Red" Harp was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 8, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel.
The family received friends at Bowling Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Sunday also at the funeral home.
There will also be a gathering in his honor at Dinos in London at 6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
