Joyce Baker's Story
Joyce (Baker) Carson, 81, wife of William "Junior" Carson of London, Ky., passed away Thursday, Dec. 8, 2016, at Continue Care Hospital in Corbin.
She was the mother of William C. Carson and wife Sharon, Ricky Carson and wife Marcy, Timothy Carson and wife Omega, Mark Carson and wife Janet, and Gary Carson, all of London, Etta Carson-Bell of Nashville, Tenn., Garrard Wayne Riley and wife Salena of East Bernstadt, and Norma Jean Riley of Rosiclare, Ill.; the grandmother of Billy Carson, Bridget Carson Goins, Chase Carson, Chelsea Carson, Hannah Carson, Tracy Carson, Marcus Carson, Gabriel Bell, Jordan Bell, Aaron Chapman, and Jeremy Carson; the great-grandmother of Carson Goins, Kenadi Carson, DeAngela Fishback, Evan Carson, and Isabell Wagers; and the sister of Charles G. "June" Riley of East Bernstadt.
She is also survived by her special nieces, Constance Parker, Courtney Parker, Latoya Brown and Teea Fuller; and by a special friend, Diane Baker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, DeCorsey Baker and Rosetta (Word) Riley and by her siblings, James Baker and Mary Louise Elliott.
Funeral service for Joyce (Baker) Carson was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 11, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Ball, Bro. Gene Greene, and Bro. Jack Riley officiating.
Burial followed at Pittsburg Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jeremy Carson, Billy Carson, Marcus Carson, Jordan Bell, Brian Goins and Dwayne Riley.
Honorary pallbearers were Jeremy Baker, Paul Carson, Sam Baker, Chase Carson, Kenneth Clark, Rick Proffitt, Ty Richmond, Jerome Word, Perry Word, Joe Smith, Randy Burns, Allen Fullen, Durrand Brown and David Gibson.
The family received friends at London Funeral Home after 6 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10.
