Johnny F.'s Story

Johnny F. Flannery, 93, passed away on Sunday, March 25, 2017.
He was born on March 20, 1924 in Jackson County, Ky., the son of the late Sammie and Nannie Lou Gabbard.
He was united in marriage to Velma Tincher who survives.
He is also survived by one son, Sammy Gene Flannery and wife Tammy of London; four daughters, Bonita Bush and husband Sammy of Corbin, Vickie Sexton and husband Stephen of London, Regina Kay Swanner and husband Tony of East Bernstadt, and Sheila Weaver and husband Doug of Lexington, Ky.; 19 grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing.
He was a former gas, oil and water driller and was a member of the Corner Stone Baptist Church.
Funeral service for Mr. Flannery was conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Shawn Madden officiating.
Burial followed in the Old Salem Cemetery, Laurel County.
Visitation was also on Tuesday at the funeral from 1 p.m. until the 4 p.m. funeral hour.
