John L. Fields, 96, of London, passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017, at his residence.
He was born on February 10, 1927, in Perry County, Kentucky, the son of the late John and Carrie Pratt Fields. Survivors include five children, Helen McKinney of Corbin, Jerry Fields of Manchester, Carrie Tetters of Somerset, Reba Bennett and Phyllis Smith, both of London; three siblings, Lorene Campbell and Emanuel Fields, both of London, and Paul Fields of Bremen, Kentucky, 12 grandchildren,11 great-grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mavis Hensley Fields and five siblings, Alene Thompson, Mark, Eugene, Rufus, and Bert Fields.
He was a coal miner, a former Caron Spinning employee, a veteran and a member of Lily Church of Christ.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, November 3, at Bowling Funeral Home with Billy Burke officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery at London. Visitation after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
