Jewell Hammons, 76, of London, Ky., widow of "Jap" Hammons, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016, at her residence.
She leaves behind six children, Tony Bowling, Sheila Osborne, Dewayne Bowling and wife Bridget, Scott Hammons and wife Mary, all of London, Terry Hammons and wife Sherri of Nicholasville, Christopher Hammons and wife Jessica of London; two siblings, Ronnie Hinkle and wife Carolyn, and Tootsie Jones, all of London.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, Brittney Taylor, Jared Bowling, Kelsey Bowling, Courtney Hammons, Emily Wyan, Connor Hammons, Amanda White, Josh Hammons, Ethan Hammons, Trenton Hammons, Tate Hammons, Henry Hammons; nine great-grandchildren, Alexia Taylor, Jaren Taylor, Brennen Bowling, Landon Bowling, Lennox Bowling, Brady Hammons, Emma White, Eli Hammons, Davis White, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Denson "Jap" Hammons; first husband, Ernest Ray Bowling; parents, Hubert and Lucy Hinkle; eight siblings, H.E. Hinkle, Odell Hinkle, Kermit Hinkle, Leander Floyd, Norma Neeley, Opal Linville, Helen Williams and Muhaska Floyd.
Graveside service for Jewell Hammons will be conducted at 12 noon Monday, Oct. 17, in the Dunn Cemetery with Delmer Gross officiating.
House-Rawlings Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
