Jessie Viola Bowling Jessie Viola Bowling, 84, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016. She was born March 31, 1931 in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Elmer and Maude Cochran Sams. She was united in marriage to William M. Bowling Jr. who preceded her in death. She is survived by four children, Lonnie Bowling and Linda Likins, both of London, Bob Bowling and wife Brenda of Corbin and Regina Flinchum and husband Steve of Annville, Ky.; two brothers, Dallas Sams of Mason, Ohio and Bill Sams of Mainsville, Ohio; three sisters, Stella Gilford, Carolyn Hensley and Wanda Hart, all of London; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing. She was a former employee of Caron Spinning Company, a homemaker and gardner and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. Visitation will be after 6 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Bowling Funeral Home. Funeral service for Jessie Viola Bowling will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 14, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with the Rev. Hershel Walker and the Rev. Claude Maggard officiating. Burial will follow in the Medlock Cemetery in Annville, Ky. Pallbearers will be William Dustin, Kevin, Taylor and Tory Bowling, Cole Likins and Stephen Flinchum.
