James Glen ‘Pootie’ Blevins James Glen “Pootie” Blevins, 60, London, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016. He was born on April 6, 1955 in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Bonnie and Beatrice Belt Blevins. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Hammond Blevins; two children, Regina Blevins Overbey and husband Jeff and Jamie Blevins, both of London; two brothers, Larry Blevins of London and Junior Blevins and wife Ann of Richmond, Ind.; a grandchild, Jaren Overbey, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his passing. Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a daughter, Christina Lee Blevins and a brother, Harold Blevins. He was employed as a mechanic and was a member of the Slate Lick General Assembly. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Marvin Napier and Marlow Napier officiating. Burial followed in the Elza Cemetery, Laurel County. Pallbearers were Brad, Jeff, Trevor and Brandon Blevins, and Jerry and Junior Belt. Visitation was after 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, also at the funeral home.
