Ida L.'s Story

Ida L. Benge, 83, of Tipp City, Ohio (formerly of London, Ky.,), passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Hospice of Dayton in Ohio.
She leaves behind one daughter, Cheryl G. Burns and husband Hugh of Dayton, Ohio; two sisters, Katherine Proffitt and husband J.D. of Lexington, Ky., and Judy Parker of London; three grandchildren, Brittany Wheeler and husband Mike of Springfield, Ohio, Danielle Waggy and husband Brenden of Lewisburg, Ohio, and Nicholas Hiler and wife Stephanie of Fairborn, Ohio, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn her passing.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Benge; parents, John C. and Rosella Barnes Minton; and 10 siblings, Pete Minton, Zella Proffitt, Irene Cheek, Tretha Benge, Nellie Proffitt, Nannie Rush, Mary Minton, Robert Minton, Glenn Minton and Dillard Minton.
She was a retired assembly line worker with General Motors, an Eastern Star and member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral service for Ida L. Benge was conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, April 14, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Pastor Bonita Ritchie officiating.
Burial followed in the Bruner Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Hugh Burns, Nicholas Hiler, Mike Wheeler, Brenden Waggly, Byron Rush, Terry Proffitt.
The family received friends from 1 p.m. until the funeral hour, also on Friday at the funeral home.
