Hilda Louise's Story
Hilda Louise Stewart, 95, passed away on Friday, Dec. 2, 2016.
She was born on June 18, 1921 in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Pleas and Kate Steele Stewart.
She is survived by five children, Pearl Hammons and Connie Wolf, both of East Bernstadt, Donna Weaver and husband Don of London, Sue Ann Riggs and husband Stanley of Scottsboro, Ala., and Owen Stewart and wife Linda of Franklin, Ohio; nine grandchildren, Sherri Coffey, Sonya Beckham, Owen R. Stewart Jr., Sean Riggs, Brian Stewart, Tammy Vaughn, Shannon Wolf, Amanda Shay Barton and Katie Flannery; and 14 great-grandchildren, plus a host of other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
Besides her parents she was also preceded in death by her siblings, John Stewart and wife Bessie, Russell Stewart and wife Edith, Bill Stewart and wife Hazel, Grace Howard and husband Raleigh, Carrie Hurley and husband Frank, and Connie Robinson and husband Jones; one grandson, Darren Riggs; and two sons-in-law, John David Hammons and Terry Wolf.
She was a member of the Arthur Ridge Baptist Church.
Funeral service was at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 4, at Bowling Funeral Home with Roger Wolf and Bobby Davis officiating. Burial followed in Snuffer Cemetery, East Bernstadt.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, also at the funeral home.
