Harlan Sexton, 81, husband of Amanda Caldwell Sexton of London, Ky., passed away Thursday, June 30, 2016, at his residence.
He was the father of Steve and wife Vickie, Ricky, Kathy and companion Danny, Diane, Kimberly and husband Ronnie, all of London, and Scott and wife Rebecca of Corbin, Ky.; the brother of Marcella Lucas and Gomer Sexton both of Whitesburg, Ky., and Hobert Sexton of Bristol, Tenn.
He is also survived by eight grandchildren, Jamie, Travis, Chayse, Jonathan, Brandi, Lindsey, Sierra, and Morgan, and four great-grandchildren, Dawson, Katie, Caleb, and Kynlee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leander Sexton and Lula Amburgey Gibson, and a brother, Floyd Goodwin.
Harlan leaves a host of many friends and loved ones to mourn his passing as well as his church family who loved him dearly. He has been a prominent businessman and member of the Laurel County community for many years. He has been a Christian in the Pentecostal Holiness faith for many years as well as a dedicated church member and board member of the Old Pathway Pentecostal Church for 10 years and a board member of the Old Pathway Pentecostal Association for six years. He has also been a member of the Kentucky Chapter of the Shriners for many years.
Funeral service for Harlan Sexton was conducted 1 p.m. Sunday, July 3, in London Funeral Home Chapel with Ted Eversole, Jerome Eversole, and Adam Eversole officiating.
Burial followed at Swiss Colony Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Jerome Eversole, Adam Eversole, Scott Woods, Ronnie Sizemore, Danny Petrey, and Jonathan Jackson.
The family received friends after 6 p.m. Saturday, July 2, also at the funeral home.
