George Vernon Williams

George Vernon Williams, 81, of London, Ky., passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Ky.
A Laurel County native, he was born February 10, 1935, the son of the late Glenn and Dorothy Blanton Williams.
He was a factory and construction worker and a member of the Church of God in Jesus Name.
He was the loving father of George Williams of East Bernstadt, Rita Wilson and Diane Sanders, both of London, Glenna Wyatt of Eaton, Ohio, and Tracey Grooms of Calhoun, Ga.; the brother of Clayton Williams, Donnie Williams, Tommy Williams, Karl Williams, Sarah Martin, and Delia Hess, all of London, Benny Williams of Harrodsburg, Ky., and Janet McQueen of Pittsburg, Ky. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three grandchildren, Amanda Nicole Williams, Kristin Cherrelle Williams, and Candi Mathis; and two brothers, Kenneth Williams and Charles Williams.
Graveside service and burial for George Vernon Williams will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 27, at Lickliter Cemetery with Brother Tim Roark and Brother Jeff Lewis officiating.
The family will receive friends at London Funeral Home from 1 until 3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
