Estill Clay Hicks, 86, of London, Ky., husband of Mona Jean Martin Hicks, passed away on Friday, Sept. 16, 2016, at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Along with his loving wife of 64 years, he leaves behind a son, Vernon Hicks and wife Judy of London; two sisters, Elsie Mae Creech and Lois Cheek; four grandchildren, Chadwick Allen Hicks, Shane Clay Botkins, Christy Jean Hicks, and Dustin Lucas Nantz; two great-grandchildren, Cass and Cameron, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Isaac and Pearl Jean Hicks; a daughter, Kathy Jean Hicks and a brother, Paul Eugene Hicks.
He was a retired carpenter, veteran of the U.S. Navy, a Kentucky Colonel and was loved by all who knew him. Estill will be greatly missed.
Funeral service for Estill Clay Hicks was conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, Sept. 19, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Brother Bobby Helton officiating.
Burial followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery.
Full military honors was presented by the local D.A.V.
The family received friends beginning at 11 a.m. until the funeral hour, also on Monday at the funeral home.
