Edna Morris's Story
Edna Morris Smith, 91, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Aug. 7, 2016, at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly.
She was born on April 9, 1925, in Laurel County, Ky., the daughter of the late Fred and Stella Robinson Morris.
She was united in marriage to Charles Edward Smith, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by two siblings, Billy Morris and wife, Doris, of Greenmount and Carole Clark and husband, Johnny, of London; nieces and nephews, Susan Summerville of Lexington, Mary Ann Ferrell of Middletown, Ohio, and Chris Clark and Steve Morris, both of London; eight great-nieces and nephews, plus a host of other friends and relatives to mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Bill.
She was a retired Laurel County school teacher and a member of Corinth Baptist Church.
Funeral service for Edna Morris Smith will be conducted at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 10, in the Bowling Funeral Home Chapel with Andrew Dyer, Lamar Ferrell and Claude Maggard officiating.
Burial will follow in the Greenmount Cemetery at London.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Wednesday until the funeral hour of 4 p.m. also at the funeral home.
