Earl H. Ramsey
Earl H. Ramsey, 88, of London, Ky., passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at his residence.
He was born August 13, 1927 in Rockcastle County, Ky.
Mr. Ramsey was a retired mechanic and heavy equipment operator, a U.S. Army veteran and affiliated with the Baptist faith.
He was the father of Kathy Jones and husband Jim, Earl Kent "Kenny" Ramsey and wife Debbie, and Krista Cox and husband Don, all of London, and Keith Ramsey of Corbin; and the brother of Eva Perciful of London. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jay Jones and wife Allison, Dennis Jones and wife Leann, Brad Harris and wife Jessica, Brett Harris and wife Mollie, Christopher Robinson, Tyler Ramsey and wife Megan, all of London, and T.K. Ramsey of Corbin; and by his great-grandchildren, Kate and Allie Jones, both of Berea, Ky., Mallory Judd, Jorden Jones, Taitum Harris, Sam Harris, Olivia Harris (and little brother on-the-way), Kaydennce Ramsey, and Kason Ramsey, all of London.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy King Ramsey; a daughter, Valerie Ramsey; his parents, Nim Ramsey and Ethel Maness Ramsey; two grandchildren, Valerie Kendra and Simbre Diana Ramsey; and his brothers, William "Hub" Ramsey, Emory Ramsey, Elmer Ramsey, Charles Evan "Tiny" Ramsey, and Clarence Lewis.
Funeral service for Earl H. Ramsey was conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the London Funeral Home Chapel with Gerald Wells and Tyson Baker officiating.
Burial followed at Elm Wood Cemetery, Mount Vernon, Ky., with DAV Chapter 158 in charge of military honors.
Pallbearers were Jay Jones, Dennis Jones, Tyler Ramsey, Mike Farley, Brad Harris, Brett Harris, Lonnie Spurlock, and Justin Young. Honorary pallbearers were T.K., Taitum, Sam and Kason.
The family received friends after 5 p.m. Sunday, April 10, also at the funeral home.
