Dorman Gene's Story
Dorman Gene Angel, 75, London, Ky., passed away Sunday, Nov. 27, 2016.
He was born on May 18, 1941 in Laurel County, Ky., the son of the late Luther and Maudie Clark Angel.
He was united in marriage first to Janice Angel who preceded him in death and second to Betty Lewis Angel who survives.
He is also survived by three children, Melissa Mize and husband David of Somerville, Ohio, Regina Boone and husband Glenn of Hamilton, Ohio, and Anthony Lewis and wife Barbie of London; a sister, Lois Turner and husband Phil of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Jerry Angel and wife Linda of Corbin and Steve Angel and wife Cheryl of London; five grandchildren, John and Caitlyn Mize, Lauren and Lindsay Boone, and Ethan Lewis and wife Miranda; and a great- grandchild, Madelyn Rae Lewis, plus a host of other nieces, nephews and relatives to mourn his passing.
Besides his parents and first wife, he was also preceded in death by two siblings, Geraldine Feltner and Herbert Angel.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving in Germany and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Funeral service was held at 12 noon on Thursday, Dec. 1, in the chapel of Bowling Funeral Home with Bobby Phillips officiating.
Burial followed in Locust Grove Cemetery at Keavy.
Visitation was after 6 p.m. Wednesday also at the funeral home.
Military honors was provided by the local DAV.
