Dennis 'D.O.''s Story
Dennis "D.O." Robinson, 86, of London, Ky., husband of Opal Brown Robinson, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2017, at the V.A. Hospital in Lexington, Ky.
Along with his loving wife, he leaves behind two children, Annette Robinson Wells and husband Jeff, and Becky Evans and husband David, all of London; three siblings, Eljean Berg and husband Don of Rock Rapids, Iowa, Patsy Walden of London, and Don Robinson of Covington, Ky.; three grandchildren, Dennis R. Wells and wife Cindy, Jessica Wells Moore and husband Clayton, and Wesley Walker; seven great-grandchildren, (twins) Wyatt Cole and Kennedy Faith Walker, Cheyenne and Isaak Moore, Brianna Hensley, and J.R. and Dylan Hunter; and an aunt, Elisa Pearl Farris, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie Robinson and Susie Allen Robinson Vandy; two siblings, Bonnie and Adrian Robinson and one great-grandchild, Keaton Walker.
He was a retired engineer with the Kentucky Highway Department; a veteran on the U.S. Army and a member of Laurel River Missionary Baptist Church. He was also a Kentucky Colonel and member of the Swiss Colony Fire Department.
He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
The family of Dennis 'D.O.' Robinson will receive friends on Saturday, Feb. 4, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home beginning at 1 p.m. until the funeral hour of 3 p.m. with Jerry Hurst officiating.
Full military honors will be presented by the local D.A.V.
Serving as pallbearers will be — Jake Bill, John Riley, Leonard "Ditter" Davis, Mike Minton, Les Williams, and Ken Wilson.
Honorary pallbearers will include members of the Swiss Colony Fire Department and Frank Dalton.
