Danielle Michelle Baker
She was born on October 20, 1987, on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, Ca.
She is survived by her parents, Kenneth Baker and Lori Baker of London, step-mother, Brenda Cox and step-father, Todd Day, one sister Adrienne Baker, niece, Laurel Ivanna (Ivy) Baker, grandparents, Charles and Lois Proffitt, Lily, Clarence Zeman, London, and Virginia Klemm, Whitelaw, WI, many aunts, uncles and cousins.
She preceded in death by grandfather, Kenneth Baker, step-grandmother, Sandy Zeman, uncle, Russell Baker and cousin, Grace Klemm.
She enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2007. In Kentucky she attended Laurel County schools, Cumberland College and Somerset Community College. Besides Kentucky she had lived in California, Missouri, Wisconsin, Louisiana and Oregon. She enjoyed traveling extensively throughout the United States, visited many national parks and museums and beaches in Hawaii and the east and west coast.
Danielle had a beautiful loving heart; she was kind towards everyone she met. She had friends of all ages; was considered by many to be "their best friend". She loved animals, growing and photographing flowers, sunrises and sunsets; cooking - always experimenting with exotic spices and food combinations, gardening, drawing, painting, jewelry making, knitting, crafts, writing stories, reading books of various topics, studying cultures and languages - particularly Japanese and Polynesian, history and caving.
Her most passionate interest was music. She loved listening to music of all types, writing songs, playing the piano, guitar, ukulele, banjo and most importantly the bassoon. She played the bassoon in the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestra, First Baptist Church Passion Play and the London Community Orchestra.
A memorial celebration service will be Saturday December 15, at 3 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 135 N. Hwy. 1223 (American Greeting Card Road) Corbin, Ky. Arrangements by Bowling Funeral Home.
