Curtis Ray Cheek, 64, of London, Ky., passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2016, at the V.A. Hospital in Wilmore, Ky.
He leaves behind three children, Charles Richard Johnson and wife Robin of Georgetown, Ky., Felicia Cheek Jaeger and husband Mark of Libertyville, Ill., and Shallon Cheek of London; four siblings, Sue Proffitt and husband Wayne of London, Joyce McQueen and husband Vernon of London, Jimmy Cheek of Corbin, and Jerry Cheek and wife Kitty of London; six grandchildren, Jacob, Logan and Kinlee Johnson, Alexus McQueen, Ashton Inman, and Grayson Jaeger, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Manerva Marie Baldwin and two brothers, Gene Wayne and Tommy Lynn Cheek.
He was a retired welder, attended Calvary Baptist Church, veteran of the U.S. Army and was love and cherished by all who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
Funeral service for Curtis Ray Cheek was conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 2, in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with full military honors presented by the local D.A.V.
Burial followed in the Rough Creek Cemetery.
The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, also at the funeral home.
