Clyde K.'s Story

Clyde K. Lawson, 82, of Berea, Ky., died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at his home.
He was born in Laurel County, Ky., on April 13, 1934 the son of the late John Morton and Mary Johnson Lawson.
He was a retired employee of the US Forestry Service, a US Army veteran, and a member of the Pine Hill United Baptist Church of London.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sabra Standau Lawson; his son, Terry Lawson and wife, Marlene of Mt. Vernon; two grandchildren, Ashley Abney and husband, Stewart, and John Lawson and wife, Jessica; two great-grandchildren, Eleanor Abney and Lawson Abney; two brothers, Estill Lawson and Norman Lawson, both of London; and five sisters, Ruth Hampton, Lee Hammack, and Betty Gray, all of London, Sue Volz of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Mary Helen McDougall of Chelsea, Mich.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.
Funeral service was conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at the Dowell & Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Burial followed in Scaffold Cane Cemetery.
Pallbearers were John Lawson, Stewart Abney, Jack Lawson, Mickey Lawson, Wayne Lawson, Jim Evans and Tommy Stewart.
