Clayton "Dean" Taylor, 80, of Evansville, Ind., passed away at 1:13 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 6, 2016, at Golden Living Center Brentwood.
Dean was born June 26, 1936 in London, Ky., the son of the late Lester and Zella (Hale) Taylor.
He honorable served his county in the United States Navy and was of the Baptist Faith.
Dean had worked as a salesman in the industrial supply industry for over 20 years. He was an outdoorsman and an avid hunter.
Dean enjoyed working with his hands, doing woodwork and "tinkering" on anything, from an engine to plumbing repairs. Most of all, Dean loved his family and spending time with them, especially the grandkids.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon (Barnett) Taylor of Evansville; daughters, Kimberley Kaylor (Joseph) of Fairview Heights, Ill., and Deania Dossett (Richard) of Evansville; siblings, Caroline Fields (Boyd) of London, Arthur Taylor of Corbin, and Paul Taylor and Donald Taylor (Lou), both of London; grandchildren, Rebecca McFarling (Shawn), Christopher Dossett, Ryan Kaylor (Lauren Durocher) and Katie Kaylor and 2 great-grandchildren, Tyler and Sierra.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Verlie, Ruthie and Alvin Taylor; in-laws, Reverend Verner and Ella Mae Barnett and sisters and brother-in-law, Imogene, Nancy and Sharon Taylor and Peal Boggs.
Funeral service was held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 8, at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel, Evansville with Reverend Chet Todd officiating and where the American Legion Kapperman Post No. 44 rendered full military rites.
Burial will be private.
