Charles Evans Barnett
Charles Evans Barnett, 81, of London, Ky., husband of the late Mary Katherine Barnett, passed away on Thursday, June 2, 2016, at his residence.
He leaves behind two daughters, Beth Ann Barnett, and Leslie Kay Snyder and husband Mark, all of Corbin, Ky.; six siblings, Jessie Begley and Jerry Ed Barnett, both of Somerset, Ky., Shirley Cole of Germantown, Ohio, Patsy Nunez of Virginia, Wilma Harville of Lexington, Ky. and Judy Chaney of Lily, Ky.; two grandchildren, Mary Chasity and Lillian Rachel Snyder;and longtime friend, Pat Hampton, plus a host of other family and friends to mourn his passing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Katherine Barnett; parents, Oscar and Ruby Barnett; seven siblings, Charles Finley Barnett, Allen Barnett, Reva Hibner, Henry Caudill Barnett, Glenn Barnett, Oscar Barnett Jr., and Gene Barnett.
He was a retired truck driver, veteran of the U.S. Navy, member and deacon at First Baptist Church of London. He taught Sunday School for 26 years at Laurel Heights Home for the Elderly and loved and cherished his family and friends.
Funeral service for Charles Evans Barnett was conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 5 in the chapel of House-Rawlings Funeral Home with Jerry Wright officiating.
Burial followed in the West London Cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers were Shane Chaney, David Chaney, Harry Friedman, Bill Smith, Brian Phillips and Bill Frazier.
The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, also at the funeral home.
