Brownie Lee's Story
September 1, 1930 — March 14, 2017
Brownie Lee Wilson, 86, husband of Edna June (Brown) Wilson, of London, Ky., passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017, at Saint Joseph London.
He was the father of Judy K. Cromer of Lexington, Ky., Sandra Lee Amburn of Fisherville, Ky., Johnny Wilson of London, and Shirley Fields of Louisville, Ky.; the brother of Ruth Steele of Varnell, Ga., and the Rev. Sim Wilson II of Cohutta, Ga. He was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, and two step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Charles Andrew Cromer and Catherine June Amburn; by his parents, the Rev. Sim A. Wilson and Margaret Elizabeth (Petree) Wilson; and by his siblings, Bill Wilson, Starlin Wilson, John Wilson, Ray Wilson, Reba Wilson, and four infants.
He was born in Woodbine, Ky., was a retired United States Army/Infantry veteran, a member of the Vine Grove Masonic Lodge No. 603 F. & A.M. and a member of Faith Assembly of God.
Funeral service for Brownie Lee Wilson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 17, in London Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sim Wilson II, the Rev. Ruth Steele, Pastor Dan Collard, and Pastor Bobby Helton officiating.
Burial will follow at Cumberland Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tom Amburn, Troy Fields, Eric Brown, David Sidles, Allan Amburn, Thomas Amburn, Trevor Fields, and Dylan Cromer.
The family received friends after 6 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, with Masonic services by McKee Lodge No. 144 F. & A.M at 7:30 p.m.
